Since 2004, the Quest Specialty Chemicals team has built a diversified coatings company focused on surface protection of rigid and flexible substrates through significant organic growth and a series of synergistic add-on acquisitions. Quest holds strategic positions in three specialty chemical market segments: OEM/Industrial, Architectural & Construction, and Transportation through its two Divisions, Quest Specialty Coatings and Quest Construction Products.

Quest Specialty Coatings

The Quest Specialty Coatings division includes Matrix System Automotive Finishes, Raabe Company, Foxcolor, Patriot Paint and Zolatone Automotive, Industrial, and Marine. These Companies serve a variety of industries such as aftermarket automotive, general industrial, and marine.

Raabe Co. LLC

Raabe Co. LLC, is a leading manufacturer of custom matched branded touchup paint and provider of private label aerosol and liquid paint filling services. No other custom color company has the experience and capacity that Raabe brings to the table. They process over 100 guaranteed color matches every business day, while providing over 18,000 custom color matches per year.

Matrix System Automotive Finishes, LLC

Established almost 30 years ago, Matrix System is a company dedicated to developing high performance, low priced refinishing products to the automotive industry. Matrix System became the first aftermarket paint manufacturer to successfully bring to market a complete line of intermix system toners, pearls, and companion products. Today, Matrix System has become the fastest growing, most innovative paint company in America by giving customers what they need – product comparable to the major brand paint companies for a fraction of the cost.

Foxcolor Inc.

Foxcolor Inc. was established in 1989 in Oshkosh, Wisconsin as a custom color match, touch-up paint and full service MRO coatings and chemical manufacturing company. Today, Foxcolor’s primary focus is in aerosol technology where it is partners with manufacturers, equipment refurbishers, installers, fabricators, MRO distributors, and applicators to improve its products and processes. Overall, customer relationships are the foundation of Foxcolor’s success.

Patriot Paint

Acquired by Quest Specialty Chemicals in October 2011, Patriot Paint was founded in 1980 by Mr. Burnie Humphrey as a manufacturer of industrial anti-corrosive coatings. Patriot Paint exists as one of the industry's distinctive producers of coating systems for metal substrates.
Patriot Paint production includes a large volume of waterborne and high-solids technology. This attribute not only minimizes Patriot's operational impact upon the environment, but also differentiates its product set from a competitive base that is substantially more rooted in solvent borne formulation.
From zero V.O.C., anti-corrosive transportation coatings to multilayer decorative systems for metal caskets, Patriot Paint has become recognized for its specialized, environmentally-sensitive, low-cost solutions for almost any metal substrate application.

Hydro-Stop, LLC

Hydro-Stop, LLC is a world leader in the manufacture of environmentally safe roofing and waterproofing systems. Formulated to provide permanent solutions to water ingress problems throughout the entire building envelope, our roofing system is a fully-adhered, sustainable, reinforced 100% acrylic elastomeric that will never need to be torn off. Hydro-Stop’s high quality products have been used worldwide and carry various approvals from FM (Factory Mutual), CRRC, Miami-Dade, Florida Building Code, Energy Star, and are complainant with OTC (Ozone Transport Commission), LEED, and California Title 24.
